Pediatrics: Achieving Equity in Pediatric Clinical Guidance: A Supplement

The American Academy of Pediatrics has published Achieving Equity, a peer-reviewed, open-access supplement of Pediatrics examining the use of race in clinical practice guidance and health equity research. Produced through the AAP’s Encoding Equity in Clinical Research and Practice grant, the supplement brings together a collection of articles that move beyond race as a biological variable and offer methods, frameworks, and evidence for building more equitable pediatric guidelines.

The collection includes work on operationalizing equity in guideline revision, alongside research and commentary advancing race-conscious approaches to pediatric care. Together, these articles expand the evidence base for the Alliance’s shared goal of reconsidering race in clinical algorithms and decision-support tools.
